Under Phase I Attollo Engineering will utilize our base ROIC and SWIR detector design and InGaAs materials to demonstrate detecting and tracking a high energy laser used in illuminating and killing a fast moving target. The imager utilized is a 640x512 InGaAs array with a 5um pixel operating at 240 Hz and windowed to 128x512 at 960Hz. Although the existing ROIC (an Attollo design) does not meet the desired frame rate, the results will show the capability leading to a next generation (Phase II) ROIC and detector design with the requisite window size, FOV, frame rate, and dynamic range required to fully meet all of the specifications stipulated in the solicitation - 16 bit dynamic range, 5kHz frame rate, 512x512 window, 1500-1700 nm response, time gate width of 10ns. The resulting imager out of the Phase II would be a TRL of 6 to 7 with several customers in waiting to include Northrop Grumman.
