An AI project is a research or collaborative project in the field of artificial intelligence that has not yet been offered as a product or formed into a company. An AI project may or may not have an official website, and typically may exist only as a code respository or as a code repository and associated academic paper.
An AI project may be initiated by an academic research institution, or by a company's research division, or an individual or group of individuals. In some cases, it may be a collaboration of two or more organizations or individuals.
An AI project is distinct from an AI-centered research laboratory or organization which may run multiple projects and experiments.
