sRide is a carpooling and bike pooling company based in Pune, India founded by Lakshna Chadha Jha, Nitin Chadha and Amitkumar Agrawal. The application is available on both Android and iOS platforms. As of 2015, the company is operational in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru.
sRide offers eligibility to a working professional to register using his name, address, personal and official email address. Member’s credentials are automatically verified through various processes. After the registration is completed, the user is provided with the option to check for other registered members traveling on his/her route and connect with them to avail or offer a ride. After the ride is completed, rider pays the car owner online as per a sharing principle of sRide.According to CNBC TV18, sRide grew ten times from 2018. They have also been featured in CNBC Young Turks Program.
The company has tie-ups with corporates such as Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant and others to offer regular carpooling rides to employees. As per a research conducted by sRide, an average vehicle’s seat utilization in India in 2018 was at about 25% which means only 1 out of 4 seats was occupied in a car in 90% cases.
On 12 August 2016, sRide raised $1 million in funding from angel investors.
