Julia Peresild's debut in cinema was the role of Natasha Kublakova in the television series "The Station" (2003) directed by Alexander Baranov.

Her first major work in cinema was the role of Olya Rodyashina in the film The Bride (2006) directed by Elior Ishmukhamedov. A breakthrough in film biography was one of the main roles (Sofia) in director Alexei Uchitel's drama The Edge (2010).

The actress' filmography includes the films The Limit of Desire (2007), Spider Web (2007), Captive (2008), Abduction (2008), Underdog (2010), Carousel (2010), Five Brides (2011), "Winter Tango" (2011), "Santa Lucia" (2012), "In the Fog" (2012), "Weekend" (2013), "Executioner" (2014), "Battle for Sevastopol" (2015), "Ludmila Gurchenko" (2015) and many others.

On March 15, 2013, Yulia Peresild was awarded the 2012 Presidential Prize for Young Cultural Workers of the Russian Federation "for her contribution to the development of national theatrical and film art," at the presentation of which Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 25, 2013.

She was born on September 5, 1984 in the city of Pskov. Her father painted icons and her mother worked in a kindergarten. When Yulia was 11 years old, her father died. She was raised by her stepfather. Estonian surname "Peresild" (est. Peresild) comes from her father's line, her Estonian grandparents were deported in the 1940s from Estonia to the RSFSR. From childhood she dreamed of becoming an actress. From the third grade, she took part in school amateur art activities, sang, played in school plays. At the age of eleven, she participated in the "Morning Star" contest of young talents.

In 2001, she graduated from Secondary School № 24 in the city of Pskov.

After school she entered the department of Russian philology at the Pskov State Pedagogical Institute, but after one year of study she went to Moscow and entered a theatrical institute.[source not shown 132 days]

In 2006 she graduated from the acting department of the directing department of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (RATI-GITIS) (acting workshop of O. L. Kudryashov).

Since 2007 she has appeared as a guest actress in productions at the State Theatre of Nations.

She collaborates with the Moscow Theatre "School of Modern Plays", the Moscow Drama Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya, as well as with the Evgeny Mironov Theatre Company.
