Ultrahaptics is a technology company making mid-air haptics for creating three-dimensional shapes and textures that can be felt that is headquartered in Bristol, England and was founded in 2013 by Sriram Subramanian and Tom Carter. The company's technology can be used to add haptic feedback to virtual objects, create more immersive holographic interfaces, and augment gesture control with haptic feedback.
On May 3, 2017 Ultrahaptics completed their series B funding round with $23 million in funding from Dolby Family Ventures, Woodford Investment Management, Cornes and the IP Group.
On December 3, 2018 Ultrahaptics completed their series C funding round with $45 million in funding from Mayfair Equity Partners (lead investor), IP Group, Woodford Investment, Cornes and Dolby Family Ventures. The CEO of Ultrahaptics, Steve Cliffe, made the following statement regarding the company's series C funding round:
