Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing techniques for alert management. The techniques include predicting an alert date for an alert that is associated with a counter, some time after the prediction, receiving an updated value for the counter, and in response to receiving the updated value and without user intervention, adjusting the predicted alert date according to the updated value. The alert date is the date when the counter is predicted to reach a target value.
