His mother, Patricia (1930–2003), was a medical technician, and his father, Samuel Seagal (1928–1991), was a high school math teacher.[16] His mother was of Dutch, English, and German ancestry, and his father was the son of Jewish Russians who moved to the U.S.In an

interview, Seagal stated that he had a Mongolian grandfather (either Buryat or Kalmyk).[18] When Seagal was five years old, his parents relocated to Fullerton, California. He attended Buena Park High School in Buena Park, California.
