Stellar is a telecommunications company developing a low Earth orbit satellite constellation for the propagation of the company's cellular and broadband networks. The name "Stellar" has been registered as a trademark by Stellar Communications SAS. The company's aim is to extend cellular and broadband networks to areas with poor or no connectivity, as well as to increase the connectivity for already connected consumers to allow for greater connection speeds while traveling. And at an industry level, the company aims to use the low Earth orbit satellite-based communications network to help automotive and transportation companies expand their digital capabilities, including autonomous transportation and mobility-as-a-service capabilities.

The company's technology solutions are intended to be co-developed with the automotive industry and include commercial discussion across the automotive, enterprise, and government verticals to propose possible solutions for different problem sets in these areas. The company's solutions are based off its low Earth orbit constellation and use proprietary terminal and equipment design, offering edge compute and 5G network capabilities and taking advantage of an architecture that can integrate future technologies.

Stellar is working on building a sustainable low Earth orbit satellite constellation through carbon reductions across the value chain. The company is as a founding member of the Space Sustainability Rating Foundation.
