Spoon University is an online food magazine platform intended for college students. It was founded by Mackenzie Barth and Sarah Adler in 2013. Spoon University aims to provide a platform for college students to share information on food preparation as well as food-related tips relevant to their campuses. The company was acquired by Discovery Inc in 2016. Spoon University is based in New York City, New York, United States.

Spoon University’s website provides visitors with food information such as recipes and restaurant or café recommendations around certain campuses. In addition to food-based articles, Spoon University also publishes topics such as campus lifestyle and general how-to articles. Spoon University’s articles are written both by the Spoon University team as well as college students from various cities across the United States. These students are members of the Spoon University network, which can be found in a number of U.S colleges. By paying a fee to Spoon University, the company provides training for the members, relevant to the skills that they need to publish articles in Spoon University – such as food photography, social media strategy, and headline writing.

Prior to the acquisition, Spoon University managed to raise $2.1 million in funds from two funding round – with its final round being a seed-round, which accumulated $2 million. Investors who have funded Spoon University include Techstars, Uncork Capital, Howard Morgan, and Ben Kosinski. Spoon University is a company that participated in the Class 48 - NYC 2015 Winter cohort of Techstars and raised an estimated $2,500,000.
