SkillPointe is an American career exploration platform that supports in-demand skilled trades.
The platform was created in 2020 by Todd Wilson, who spent 15 years as the chief financial officer of NASCAR.Wilson has said he started Skillpointe to help reshape public perception of skilled trades as “an opportunity, not a stereotype.”
Skillpointe helps introduce users to skills-based careers, connects them with nearby training programs, and shares job openings.Skillpointe focuses on skills-based careers that are in high demand, have high earnings potential, and require a relatively low amount of training.SkillPointe coordinates a national database of more than 50,000 training programs from community colleges, trade programs and technical schools. The site also aggregates more than 300,000 active job openings.SkillPointe focuses on careers that can be attained through trade school, apprenticeship, earn-and-learn programs, certifications and community college degrees.
The SkillPointe Foundation, the nonprofit arm of SkillPointe, has raised more than $2 million and funded more than 650 scholarships nationwide.
