Simpplr

Simpplr is an enterprise software company that offers a modern intranet platform designed to enhance internal communication, collaboration, and employee engagement within organizations. The company was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Redwood City, California.

Simpplr was founded by Dhiraj Sharma in 2014, and launched in 2015. Prior to Simpplr, Dhiraj founded Simplion Technologies, a cloud consulting and systems integration company. Simpplr's inception came when Workday asked Sharma to build a new intranet for them. Sharma then started Simpplr to expand on this project, rather than create one custom intranet. In 2016, Simpplr raised $6 million in Series A financing from Norwest Venture Partners leading the round, and Salesforce Ventures participating.In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Simpplr secured nearly $30 million in its series B round, led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from Salesforce Ventures.In 2021, Simpplr secured $32 million in Series C funding, the round led by Tola Capital, with participation from current investors Norwest Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and George Still Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Eddie Kang, Principal with Tola Capital, joined Simpplr’s board.In 2023, Simpplr secured $70 million in its series D funding round, led by Sapphire Ventures. That year Simpplr also acquired Socrates.AI, a generative AI-based virtual employee assistant.
