HISTORICAL REFERENCE OF THE CITY OF SEMILUKI
On June 13, 1926, the Supreme Technical Council of the Economic Administration of the Supreme Economic Council of the USSR and the Industrial Plan of the Supreme Economic Council of the RSFSR approved the master plan for the construction of a refractory plant near the railway. The station on the railway line Voronezh-Kursk, and then the city was named after the nearby ancient village of Semiluki. Already on September 1, 1926, construction began. Thus, a new settlement was born - the working settlement of Semiluki, which was formed in 1929.
Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR No. 731/13 dated November 18, 1954. the status of the working settlement of Semiluki was determined - the city of Semiluki of regional subordination. At that time, the city had about 10,000 inhabitants.
In the eighties, the population of the city was about 22,000 people.
By Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR No. 74/60 dated February 1, 1963, the city of Semiluki was classified as a city of regional subordination. By the law of the Voronezh region of December 2, 2004, the city of Semiluki was endowed with the status of an urban settlement. Official name - "urban settlement - the city of Semiluki, Semiluki municipal district of the Voronezh region"
The territory of the city of Semiluki is part of the Semiluki municipal district of the Voronezh region and is the administrative center. The representative body is the Council of People's Deputies, consisting of 15 people.
As of January 1, 2005, the total area of the city was 16.04 square kilometers. According to the results of the All-Russian population census of 2002, the number of residents of the city of Semiluki was 25559 people. 12511 - male, 13048 - female. As of November 1, 2004, there were 14,621 able-bodied people and 5,580 pensioners. Citizens of 15 nationalities live in the city. The language of communication is Russian, 99.5% is the Russian population.

In the microdistrict "Yuzhny" there is a historical monument - Bashkirtsev's dacha, a pond, the construction of environmentally friendly housing "Slavyanograd" is underway (14 km from the center of Voronezh).
