Sei is an open-source, layer-1 blockchain offering infrastructure for trading apps of different types, including non-fungible token marketplaces, gaming DEXs, and DeFi DEXs. The chain conducts market-based parallelization and has a native order-matching engine that allows exchange teams to use Sei's twin-turbo consensus.
Sei is backed by Multicoin, Delphi, Coinbase, Hudson River, GSR, Flow Traders, and angels from LayerZero, Frax, and Anchorage. In 2023, The platform announced a partnership with SPACE ID, a blockchain-based platform that enables the creation and management of virtual spaces. The collaboration between the two protocols allows users to easily integrate their virtual world activities with the trading capabilities of Sei.
In 2022, Sei partnered with Gravity Bridge, an open, decentralized bridge between blockchain ecosystems. The partnership will enable interoperability between the Ethereum and Sei ecosystems, allowing users to make use of each ecosystem. Kargo is a Layer 1.5 on Sei. Its base layer contracts will act as modular infrastructure for global prediction markets.
