Seamore is a food startup company located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, making seaweed food products that was founded in January, 2015 by Willem Sodderland.
Seamore uses sustainable seaweed harvesting practices by harvesting up to a maximum of 15% of seaweed patches. This allows each harvest seaweed patch to grow back and be sustainably picked over, and over.
I Sea Wraps are made with 50% wakame and himanthalia seaweed. According to Seamore, their I Sea Wraps are made using organic non-GMO seaweed, contain 25% more fiber, and 19% more protein than regular wheat wraps.
I Sea Pasta was the first product made by Seamore and became commercially available in August 2015. I Sea Pasta is made using handpicked seaweed from Connemara, Ireland, and is gluten-free, high in fiber, organic, non-GMO, and contains 80% less calories than regular pasta per 100g serving.
I Sea Bacon is made using seaweed that can be used as a plant-based substitute for bacon. I Sea Bacon is organic, gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO.
Seamore began a crowdfunding campaign on Symbid that ran from April-May 2015. During their crowdfunding campaign, Seamore received a lot of public attention. The company successfully raised €266,560 from 200 people during their crowdfunding campaign. The company is using the crowdfunded money to create new seaweed food products, get their products into more stores and in more countries, and increase their marketing budget.
