Krasnodar foodtech startup Qummy appeared in 2019. The project launches "smart" cafes on an area of two square meters without cooks and kitchens.
At the first stage, the company cooks food in kitchen factories. Then, with the help of its own "Smart Ice" technology, ready meals are frozen and delivered to customers who are already cooking them in a special Qummy oven. The oven automatically identifies each dish by a QR code and selects a program for its completion — the whole process takes from 4 to 7 minutes.
At the end of November, the startup entered the b2c market and launched its own food delivery with a robot oven for heating.
In 2019, the startup became one of the winners of the Karpov Venture Awards. In the same year, Qummy attracted 9 million rubles of investment, in 2020 - another 57 million rubles from private investors. In August 2021, the company closed the round immediately for $ 1.6 million from a pool of investors — Sergey Dashkov's Joint Journey investment office, as well as business angels. This money will be spent on expansion in the USA.
Now the project is undergoing acceleration in the American Alchemist, which specializes in technology companies with b2b solutions. The demo day will take place in February 2022.
