1989: Defeated Johnny Chan in the WSOP Main Event head-to-head and became the youngest ever winner of the event (24 years old).

1993: Became the second player in WSOP history to win three bracelets in the same year.

2005: Won the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

2006: Won his 10th WSOP bracelet, tying him with Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan.

2007: Inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
