Petuum

Established in 2016, Petuum is a software infrastructure and ecosystem provider enabling artificial intelligence (AI) for enterprises. The company's operating system offers users a platform to build machine learning (ML) or deep learning (DL) applications and deploy them on different scales and hardware, like workstations, data centers, the internet of things, and edge computing.

In 2017, Petuum raised a $93M Series B round with the intention to utilize the financing to deploy its operating system in sectors with relatively low AI adoption, like manufacturing and healthcare. Petuum's end-to-end platform allows low-expertise users to compose and execute DAGs with modular DataPacks for different kinds of data. The platform also hosts an experiment manager for amortized auto-tuning and enhancing pipelines of models and systems.

Aurick Qiao, the CEO of Petuum, said in an interview:
