What Is Overlord (LORD)?

Overlord (LORD) is a typical role-playing game (RPG) with non-fungible token (NFT) integration. Given the hype around play-to-earn (P2E) games, there are a wave of new projects jumping onboard. Overlord claims to be the first such game on mobile.

To join the Overlord.World universe, players only need a smartphone, an internet connection and a personal wallet on Binance Smart Chain (BSC). The game allows members to explore maps and battle other players, with successful battles rewarding and propelling the winners onto the leaderboard. Gamers have the option to upgrade their character by purchasing armor, weapons and other equipment; an improved version of items increases the character's combat power and, as a result, boosts the chances of winning.

Overlord provides users not only with a variety of game mechanics, but also with detailed arena maps (the mobile game supports both NFT items and a PVP battle arena). This aspect gives gamers an advantage — they can use different types of attacks when engaging in battle. Who Are the Founders of Overlord?

Overlord.World is not a new game — the original Overlord was released in July 2021, and was later sold to an unknown team that integrated the NFT format (which is based on texture packs developed in Unity) in the current version. The new team also added blockchain mechanics and the PVE battle functionality.

An updated version of Overlord is available for iOS and Android.

What Makes Overlord Unique?

Functionality for mobile devices. The Overlord game developers concentrate on interactivity and establishing engagement with platform users. Above all, you don't need a laptop to become a part of Overlord.World, mobile phone or tablet will suffice. With the popularity of P2E games in developing countries, where the majority use a smartphone as their main computing device, Overlord is accessible to more players. Gamers can also play the game anytime and anywhere.

Earnings from playing. Players can earn from gaming and selling in-game items. In addition to reward tokens, they can also receive tokens by farming or fighting. This allows any players to gain monetary benefits, something that was not possible in the traditional gaming model.

Dual token model. The platform chose such a model to split equity and means of exchange, preventing a sharp drop in the value of the governance token and reducing selling pressure on the currency. The system employs two sorts of tokens: $LORD is utilized in farming and PvE (fighting), and $OVL is utilized in the mobile game’s PvP mode.

In-game NFTs. To level up, users collect rewards: a real-time boost or a bag of coins. NFTs represent all items in the game. Pet NFTs are also available on the in-house marketplace.

How Many Overlord (LORD) Coins Are There in Circulation?

Overlord (LORD) is the game’s native token of the BEP-20 standard that allows players to purchase attributes, pets and bags of coins to raise personal rating on the Overlord.World platform. LORD was launched on Sept. 7, 2021, with a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 coins. The token allocation is as follows: 25% for ILO (Initial Liquidity Offering); 25% for liquidity providers (LP); 20% for farming and 20% for fighting; 8% for product development; 2% for airdrop and partners.

On top of that, there is also the $OVL token — a utility token that can be earned and spent in the game, for example, to buy in-game items (used to pump equipment, pets, characters' combat power).

How Is the Overlord Network Secured?

Overlord has completed the audit process with Solidproof.io by checking the smart contract code. Furthermore, $LORD can be securely stored in supported wallets that are connected to BSC, among them: MetaMask and Binance Chain Wallet.
