OriGen Biomedical, Inc. is a privately-held medical device manufacturer founded in 1997 and headquartered in Austin, Texas. They produce products for cryopreservation, cell culture, and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to support the treatment of respiratory distress, cancer, genetic conditions, and other life-threatening diseases.
OriGen is certified annually to ISO 13485 standards and regularly inspected by the FDA, ISO certification organizations, and their customers. They maintain certifications to worldwide current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and each product is registered with regulatory agencies across the world. Origen operates a European office and distribution center in Germany to reduce the time to patients by providing stock products for quicker turnaround times.
OriGen’s ECMO products are intended for supplementary oxygen support using a custom perfusion circuit instead of a respirator. Products include Veno-Venous ECMO catheters, and the FloPump 32. OriGen produces Liquivent (perfluorocarbon) lung lavage solutions to clear debris from the lungs when indicated (for research use only in the United States).
