NGP Capital is a venture capital firm in California that focuses on intelligent enterprise, smart mobility and mobile technologies. Despite its name, NGP Capital is a business entity separate from Nokia, although it is one of its limited partners, alongside Bell Labs. Founded in 2005 in Palo Alto, California by John Gardner and Paul Asel, it invests in late stage ventures, series C, series B, series D, and series E rounds. It prefers to provide capital for companies that are developing products and services in the enterprise, mobility, and mobile technology sectores. Its portfolio companies include Shippeo, Zinier, Shadowfax, Platform9, Scoop Technologies, Xiaolu Clinic, Sensoro, Lifesum, Zum and others. NGP Capital, also known as Nokia Growth Parthers, operates additional offices in Helsinki, Finland; Geneva, Switzerland; and Beijing, China.
