Muir AI

Muir AI, also known as Muir, is a Seattle-based climate technology company that focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for sustainable supply chains. It was founded in 2022 and was named by CB Insights as one of the most promising artificial intelligence startups of 2023.

Muir's first climate tech solution, called Carbon Origin, uses AI technology to provide estimates of emissions that are created from supply chains used by major corporations. It uses data and technology such as supply chain models, geospatial data, and emissions modeling to generate specific emissions data across supply chains.

To use the platform, corporations input data from various sources including trade, manufacturing, emissions, and geospatial data. It then analyzes the data to identify the amount of carbon emissions that can be attributed to each stage of the supply chain.

The analysis is presented to the corporation in the form of charts showing information such as the actual emissions in units of tons of carbon dioxide equivalent for each stage and how those emissions compare at a global scale. The platform then generates reports that identify the best opportunities to reduce carbon emissions in the supply chain in a cost-efficient manner.
