On June 9, 2014 MicroEnsure announced completing an equity funding round with $10.4 million in equity funding from Telenor Group, Omidyar Network, IFC and Opportunity International, Sanlam Emerging Markets and AXA Group. At the time of receiving this equity funding Telenor Group took additional equity by converting debt by rolling 51% of its holdings in the MicroEnsure Asia joint venture into MicroEnsure. The company plans on using their equity funding to expand into new markets.
