Lisk (LSK) was launched on the 24th of May, 2016. It was a fork of Crypti that started with an ICO (Initial Coin Offering) to determine the initial distribution and raise development funds.
Lisk is supported by DPoS or Delegated-Proof-of-Stake algorithm, that was created by BitShares. The difference between the regular PoS (Proof of Stake) and DPoS is that in DPoS, only the top 101 delegates that were determined by the voting weight of the voters, are actively forging and securing the network.
