Linguistic

Linguistic is an online platform that connects language learners to native speakers of that language. It uses artificial intelligence to discern the learner's proficiency level in the target language and match them with a set number of native speakers so that the learner can have real-life conversations and experiences.

Users of Linguistic can utilize tools within the application to further their learning in addition to the human interactions. The learner can tap on the messages with the native speaker to inquire about the meanings of words, phrases, and sentences. The native speaker can use the messages to make corrections to the language learner's texts and also help to translate any unclear messages.

Linguistic also uses machine learning and natural language processing to track the learner's progress based on the interactions within the messages with the native speakers. Learners can note how their own personal skills improve as well as observe how they compare to other learners of the language.

The intended goal of Linguistic is to release a beta version of the application. The wait list for the beta version has more than 560 subscribers as of February 2019.
