John Entwistle (born John Alec Entwistle on October 9, 1944) was an English musician known for his work in various genres including rock music, art rock, hard rock, and power pop. Born in Chiswick, England, he held several occupations throughout his career, such as guitarist, record producer, bassist, singer-songwriter, and composer. Entwistle attended Acton High School and owned a bass guitar and a French horn.
Entwistle was also known by various nicknames, including The Ox, Thunderfingers, The Quiet One, and Big Johnny Twinkle. He passed away on June 27, 2002, in Paradise Valley, Nevada.
