JPM Coin is a stablecoin made by J.P.Morgan on the Quorum (forked from Ethereum) blockchain. J.P.Morgan officially announced JPM Coin on February 14, 2019 and became the first bank in the United States to successfully execute transactions using a digital currency representing fiat currency. The transaction consisted of transferring money from a J.P.Morgan client account into a J.P.Morgan account. The JPM Coin is made to be redeemable at a 1:1 ratio with fiat currencies and is only available for institutional customers (banks, broker dealers, corporations etc..) able to pass the J.P.Morgan Know Your Customer (KYC) test.
