British publishing company
Harvill Secker is a British publishing company formed in 2005 from the merger of Secker & Warburg and the Harvill Press.
Secker & Warburg was formed in 1935 as a result of the takeover of the Martin Secker company, which was in receivership, by Fredrik Warburg and Roger Senhouse. The firm became famous for its political position, being both anti-fascist and anti-communist, which put them at odds with the ideals of many intellectuals of that time.
