General Motors Ventures is a venture capital firm founded in 2010. It is a subsidiary of General Motors, and is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. The firm prefers to fund companies during the late stages of financing. It also focuses on providing capital for companies in the automotive industry, with a particular interest in advanced propulsion, connected vehicle, advanced materials, processors, advanced manufacturing technology, and business services. As of December 2019, General Motors Ventures is managing an active portfolio of 16 companies, and has sold of its equity share in 21 companies.
