Freight Farms is a Boston-based agriculture technology company that has the stated goal of enabling people to grow food within their community regardless of geographical location.
The company produces 40-foot shipping containers in which consumers can grow their own food. This container is called "The Leafy Green Machine".The container holds necessary tools and is also climate-controlled so that consumers can successfully and sustainably obtain their own food, cutting out most harmful emissions that are created by the mass transportation of food.

The feature known as 'farmhand' is a digital platform on which consumers can manage, analyze, and remotely control their farms from anywhere in the world.
