Fort Valley State University

Fort Valley State University (FVSU) is a public university established in 1895 and located in Fort Valley, Georgia, United States. FVSU is a part of the University System of Georgia and specializes in education, higher education, and operates as a historically black college or university. As an organization and educational institute, the university's motto is "Be Bold. Be Amazing. Be Prepared.".

Fort Valley State University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET, and the American Dietetic Association, Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.

In addition to being a member of the University System of Georgia, FVSU is affiliated with several organizations, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association, American Association of State Colleges and Universities, National Athletic Association, and Association of Public and Land.
