The company was founded in 2013 by Jason Appelbaum (CEO). EverCharge offers wireless networked charging stations designed for urban environments and multi-unit dwellings. EverCharge charging stations communicate through a mesh network in a designated area.
The companies first charging stations were installed in Emeryville, California at the home of founder and current CEO Jason Appelbaum. Each unit has power monitoring built in and is capable of tracking the power each resident uses and billing them at a later date, giving the building the opportunity to recoup the cost of electricity. EverCharge expanded and rolled out nationwide in 2015.
SmartPower is a patented solution that manages power based on vehicle demand. When the system senses extra power is available, or the rated capacity is reached, the system allocates power to vehicles according to their needs.
