DigitalGlobe is a company that offers high-resolution images, information, and services that are made possible through the company's own satellite constellation and aerial network. The company was founded by Walter Scott in 1992, in Westminster, Colorado, United States.
DigitalGlobe holds capabilities that allow them to deliver 30cm resolution imagery for entities that require images for informed decision making. Their satellite constellation has a daily image capacity of over three million square kilometers. The spectral abilities of the satellites permit users to see beyond clouds and smoke, and to distinguish between materials on the surface of Earth.
Their satellite, the WorldView-3, is the first commercial satellite that offers operation in multi-payload, super-spectral, high resolution use. The satellite operates at an altitude of 617 kilometers with a 1.24 meter multispectral resolution, as well as a 2.7 meter short-wave infrared resolution. It can collect up to 680,000 square kilometers of imaging per day. The satellite was launched in 2014.
