Role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red

Cyberpunk 2077 is based on Mike Pondsmith's board game Cyberpunk 2020. The main elements are taken from the 2020 edition, but the game takes place in the later future, in 2077. However, the game tells about the events that preceded it. Pondsmith himself was actively involved in the development of Cyberpunk 2077, giving advice on the game's mechanics. Cyberpunk 2077 was created according to the canons of the "old" cyberpunk of the 1980s. When developing, the team was inspired by the books of William Gibson, in particular, Neuromancer. CD Projekt RED shows cyberpunk in a believable way for the common people, instead of talking about super-technologies that could destroy the game's world, which is not the story that the developers wanted to tell.
