The founder remained at the head of the company for twelve years until the company was taken over by his children in 1945: Erna Popp, a qualified pharmacist, and Dr. Hans-Oskar Popp, a physician specializing in natural medicines.

1996 - Researchers at Bionorica discover a previously unknown property of sorrel as part of the anti-inflammatory action of Sinupret®. In addition, the antiviral effect of primrose and verbena has been proven.
1997 - Sinupret® and Sinupret® Forte are re-licensed in Germany. In the same year, Bionorica begins its own cultivation of thyme in Mallorca in order to obtain the optimum quality of raw materials for the production of Bronchipret®. The company standardizes production processes around the world.
2001 - Bionorica becomes a public company.
The company continues to grow and opens its representative office in Kiev (Ukraine) in 2000. The pharmaceutical manufacturer also buys Delta-9-Pharma GmbH.
2002 - The company introduces to the German market an active substance from hemp, which is of great importance for pharmacology.
In September 2003, Bionorica AG celebrated its 70th anniversary, which was attended by the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Edmund Stoiber.
2005 - The subsidiary "Bionorica Research GmbH" was founded in Innsbruck (Austria). His main areas of focus are research and development of herbal medicines, including in the field of respiratory diseases and chronic pain. This is the first private company of its kind in Austria.
In 2013 Bionorica celebrated its 80th anniversary. As part of this celebration, the company organized an international symposium "Phytoneering: one step ahead in thinking and research" in Berlin.
In 2019, Bionorica Group generated sales of 333.3 million euros, up 7.3% compared to the previous year (2018 - 310.7 million euros).
