Axilor Ventures is a Bangalore, India-based company founded in 2014 that serves as an accelerator and a seed fund. It assists founders in enhancing their odds of success through its programs and a venture funding model. The firm looks for early-stage start-up companies operating in the enterprise, consumer, fintech, deep tech, and health tech sectors.
The company invests in eight to twelve start-ups every year and between $500-750k in each start-up through seed funds.
The company's founders include SD Shibulal, Senapathy "Kris" Gopalakrishnan, Prof. Tarun Khanna, Srinath Batni, and Ganapathy Venugopal.
Shibulal is also a cofounder of Infosys, was a member of its board, and acted as its CEO between 2011 and 2014. He currently serves on the board of several organizations promoting education.
Gopalakrishnan is the chairman of Axilor Ventures and also served as the vice chairman of Infosys from 2011 to 2014 and CEO from 2007 to 2011. He holds master's degrees in physics and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
Tarun Khanna is a professor at the Harvard Business School and the director of Harvard University's Lakshmi Mittal & Family South Asia Institute. Khanna also serves on the boards of the global power company AES Corporation, the global adtech company and India's first unicorn InMobi, Boston's Museum of Fine Arts, and PRS India. He is a cofounder of several ventures across the developing world.
Srinath Batni served as a member of the board of directors at Infosys from 2000 to 2014. Batni has held several positions, from project management to heading key business units. He was also a member of the Infosys Foundation trust and the Employees Welfare Trust.
Ganapathy Venugopal (VG) is a cofounder and CEO of Axilor Ventures. He spent his first fifteen years in leadership roles helping large corporates manage and mitigate risk. Prior to cofounding Axilor Ventures, VG was head of strategy & planning at Infosys.
