Production

The aircraft was supposed to be built in parallel at two factories: in Kiev and Ulyanovsk. A representative office of the ASTC was organized at the UAPK, and V. I. Novikov was appointed as the representative of the General Designer.

Until 1994, the Kiev Aviation Production Association built 17 aircraft.

The Ulyanovsk Aviation Industrial Complex built 33 aircraft from 1985 to 1995.

After 1995, due to the difficult economic situation in the country, the production of An-124 aircraft was discontinued. At KiAPO, one aircraft No. 03-03 remained unfinished, in Ulyanovsk there were unfinished No. 08-01, 08-02, 08-03.
