Alexander Agassiz, born Alexander Emanuel Agassiz on December 17, 1835, in Neuchâtel, was an engineer, biologist, and curator. Agassiz had dual citizenship in the United States and Switzerland. He was the son of Louis Agassiz, a noted biologist and geologist, and Elizabeth Cabot Agassiz.
Agassiz was educated at Harvard University and later attended the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Following his education, he made significant contributions in the fields of biology and engineering.
He passed away on March 27, 1910, aboard the RMS Adriatic.
