Yoichiro Nambu

Yoichiro Nambu (なんぶ よういちろう) was born in Tokyo on January 18, 1921. He was a physicist and professor who held dual citizenship in the United States and Japan. Nambu was educated at the University of Tokyo and Princeton University. Throughout his career, he had various doctoral students, including Savas Dimopoulos. Nambu passed away in Osaka, Japan, on July 5, 2015.

In recognition of his contributions to the field, Yoichiro Nambu received the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physics.
