Victoria Livschitz is the founder of the companies Grid Dynamics, RightOnTrek, and Tonomi.

Education

Livschitz spent her first undergraduate year from 1988 to 1989 at Vilniaus Universitetas. She graduated from Kharkiv State University with a BS in applied mathematics in 1991. From 1992 to 1994, she attended Case Western Reserve University, where she received a BS in computer science. Following that, she took some graduate courses at both Purdue and Stanford University in electrical engineering and computer science, respectively.

Career

Livschitz began her career as a software engineer and architect at Ford from 1994 to 1997. After leaving there, she started working at Sun Microsystems as a software architect and moved up the ranks to principal engineer, then principal architect.

In August 2006, Livschitz founded her first company, Grid Dynamics, and served as CEO until June 2013. Grid Dynamics provides engineering IT services for companies in the retail, financial, and technology fields. After leaving, she founded the company Tonomi the same month and served as CEO until July 2015. In August 2015, she returned to Grid Dynamics and served as chairman and CTO, and then only as CTO from April 2017 to August 2021. In June 2021, Livschitz founded and served as CEO at RightOnTrek, a company that provides information on hiking specific trails, allows trip planning, sells made-to-order backpacking meals, and offers rental gear.

Philanthropy

In November 2021, Livschitz donated $30,000 of her winnings from the World Series of Poker to various charities and vowed to donate all of her future earnings as well. The $30,000 was split between the Glacier Institute and Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation.

Personal life

Livschitz enjoys backpacking and has hiked across Patagonia, Peru, Alaska, and the High Sierra John Muir Trail. She has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. She started backpacking later in life, and her experience led to the development of RightOnTrek.
