The University of Regina is an educational institution located in Saskatchewan, Canada. It was founded in 1974 and operates as a public organization. Originally known as the Regina Campus of the University of Saskatchewan and Regina College, the university has adopted the motto "As one who serves". The campus is home to 1,812 employees, and has been assigned 16 patents.
The University of Regina is accredited by the Ministry of Advanced Education of Saskatchewan and is affiliated with several organizations, including Universities Canada, the University of the Arctic, and the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate. Additionally, it is a member of the Association of Colleges and Universities of the Canadian Francophonie, the Canadian Bureau for International Education, and the Canadian University Press.
The university operates in the education, higher education, and university industries, and has three subsidiary departments: the University of Regina Press Regular, and the University of Regina Department of Film. It is known for its athletic teams, the Cougars and the Rams.
