Tempus Ex

Tempus Ex is a developer of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science technologies to create interactive experiences for sports events and sports broadcasting. This includes interactive experiences and other solutions around live events to change the experience around sports consumption. The company has partnered with the National Football League and other sports leagues, broadcasters, gaming companies, and athletes.

In 2023, Tempus Ex partnered with Opendorse and the Pac-12 collegiate conference in a data technology partnership, which allows Pac-12 student-athletes to use Tempus Ex's technology to monetize automatically-generated and bespoke highlights on Twitter. In the partnership with Curastory, the athletes receive 50 percent of the advertising generated through the highlights and allows players to commentate on the highlights and distribute the videos to various other social media channels.

Tempus Ex also partnered with Slate in February 2023 to capture and create new types of social content through Tempus Ex's "FusionFeed" technology to allow organizations to overlay data onto content to increase user engagement.

The core of Tempus Ex is a system that can sync call video and data at a point of creation. The timestamps persist, regardless of how they are used downstream through Tempus Ex's FusionFeed technology. This can be used for the NFL's football operations dashboard, to generate new content for a sponsorship, help players monetize their highlights, and help medical personnel triage sources of on-field injury. The company notes that beyond the current uses of its technology, further innovation can create uses Tempus Ex has not previously thought of, such as through a partnership with Unity to be used in their mobile games.
