Teladoc is a healthcare company offering virtual medical services that is headquartered Purchase, New York and was founded in 2002 by George Byron Brooks. On September 18, 2014 Teladoc announced raising $50.3 million in series C funding from Icon Ventures (lead investor), Trident Capital, QuestMark Partners, New Capital Partners, Kleiner Perkins, Icon Ventures, HLM Venture Partners, Greenspring Associates, FLAG Capital Management, and Cardinal Partners. Jason Gorevic, the CEO of Teladoc, made the following statement about his company's series C funding round:
This sizeable investment will allow us to quickly develop new products and services that deliver additional value for our customers while simultaneously expanding into new markets and distribution channels. Our goal is to extend our significant lead in the industry such that Teladoc is the de facto brand in Telehealth.
