Shenzhen Shineway

Shenzhen Shineway Hi-Tech Co., Ltd is dedicated to the development, manufacture and marketing of disease inspection instruments, including the detection of various clinical, environmental and agricultural molecular targets. Their business includes the R&D and marketing of microfluidic chips and biological detection instruments, R&D of biological detection technology, and technical services. Core team members at Shenzhen Shineway are researchers or graduates of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).

Together with researchers from HKUST, Shenzhen Shineway developed microfluidic chip technology for detection of SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus strain responsible for the COVID-19 outbreak, in 40 minutes. Each device has a portable PCR analyser, pre-processing instrument, a bioassay chip and nucleic acid detection kits for the novel coronavirus. Up to 8 samples can be tested at once. The portable device uses a silicon-based micro-heater module to heat samples for the PCR step. The device has international CE certification (EU standard) and is qualified for export in the EU and Hong Kong.
