Shell Ventures

Shell Ventures was established in 1996 as the corporate venture fund of the Royal Dutch Shell corporation. They target strategic investments in early stage and growth stage investments to develop new technologies or business models of interest to Shell. They make minority investments in technology companies, joint ventures and externally manged venture capital funds.

Shell Ventures investment focus is oil and gas, renewable energy, cleantechnology, new fuels technology, mobility and digital.

Shell Ventures renewable power and thermal investments include AutoGrid, Axiom Exergy, Corvus Energy, Geli, Husk Power Systems, Innowatts and Sonnen.

Their investments in oil and gas include Airborne Oil&Gas, Bluware, Halfwave and Salamander Solutions.

Their investments in fuels and mobility include Ample, Asperitas, Aurora, Nordsol, and Sense Photonics.

Their investments in multi-industry solutions include Akselos, Cumulus, Kespry, Maana and MachineMax.

Their investments in funds and incubators include Autotech Ventures, Chrysalix, Congruent Ventures, Energy Ventures, Energy Environment Investment, G2VP, GRC SinoGreen Fund III, Greentown Labs, Maniv Mobility, ProVenture and SET Ventures.

Shell Ventures has exited their investments in Sonnen and OpenSpirit.
