Scoffable Ltd is a Scottish online food order and delivery company. It acts as an intermediary between takeaway food outlets and customers. Headquartered in Livingston, Scotland, Scoffable was founded in West Lothian and has customers across Scotland and the North of England. The platform allows customers to search for local takeaway restaurants, place orders and pay online, and to choose from pick-up or delivery options.
Scoffable was founded in 2010 by Daniel Jones and Michael Brown during their final year as students at Heriot-Watt University. In 2013 Scoffable was awarded 'Most Visionary Young Business in Scotland' at the BT Scotland Young Entrepreneurs Awards in Glasgow. The company has since grown in partner takeaways, customers and staff and now serves the majority of Scotland and parts of Northern England. Scoffable has employees as of 2018In 2019, Scoffable were shortlisted for the 'Best Use of Social Media' Award at the Scottish Herald 2019 Digital Business awards.
Scoffable markets on social media channels with a distinctly Scottish style of humour and have worked with takeaway vendors to produce dishes, two examples being a chips and cheese pizza and a deep fried 'Stonner Kebab'. Scoffable were quick to act when rival company Just Eat courted controversy in Scotland by supporting the England women's national football team in the 2019 Women's Football World Cup. Scoffable responded by offering vouchers to customers and stating support for the Scottish women's national football team.
In 2019, Scoffable worked with Scottish comedians to create a promotional video "A pure magic delivery". Scoffable have promoted their business across West Lothian with a marketing presence on roundabout junctions across the county. Scoffable have also run national radio campaigns across Scotland with a 2018 advert being shortlisted for the 'Best use of Music in a Campaign' award in the Vox Awards 2018.
Bellenden Gardens in Edinburgh was the target of a Scoffable marketing campaign in 2019 where gift vouchers were offered to residents, generating media interest.
