Roald Hoffmann

Roald Hoffmann is a playwright , chemist , scientist , poet , and writer . Born on July 18, 1937, in Zolochiv , Hoffmann holds citizenship in both Poland and the United States .

Hoffmann attended Stuyvesant High School before obtaining his education from Columbia University and Harvard University . His doctoral advisor was William Lipscomb . Hoffmann's doctoral students include Jing Li (chemist) and Qiang Liu .

In 1981, Roald Hoffmann received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry .
