Portify is a London-based company that has designed and created a mobile application that aids independent contractors in optimizing their take-home pay.Its stated mission is to make the freelancing segment of the labor economy efficient for the workers in it.
The application has various features that are intended to guide freelancers to financial security while they are working for on-demand platforms or in transient work. The first feature can be used for planning expenses. The application automatically predicts upcoming expenses, such as rent or fuel, so that the user can know to work more or spend less. Portify has connections with companies such as Apple, Amazon, and Oedeon, which allows for users to obtain discounts on those products of services.
Portify uses various security features and is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. It is IASME certified, which allows for its systems to be tested regularly for security strength. It also uses end-to-end encryption, the type of digital security that is often used by banks.
Portify raises £7 million in Series A funding round led by Redalpine, with participation from existing investors Kindred and Entrepreneur First (EF).
Portify was founded by Chris Butcher and Sho Sugihara.
