PokerStars is a private limited company founded by Isai Scheinberg and Mark Scheinberg on January 1, 2001. The company is headquartered in Isle of Man and operates in the online poker and online gambling industries. It is a B2C company and currently has an active status.

Isai Sheinberg and Mark Sheinberg have both served as CEO of PokerStars. The company has formed strategic partnerships with organizations such as FURIA eSports.

PokerStars faces competition from companies including ggPokerok, Partypoker, PokerKing, 888poker, and Party Poker.

PokerStars is the largest online resource for playing poker in the world.

All major types are available for the game, including Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Stud.

The game is played for "play money" or American dollars (as well as euros, British pounds and Canadian dollars), with stakes from $0.01/$0.02 to $1000/$2000.

On average, at least 90 thousand players play on the site at the same time. During "peak hours" or during popular tournaments, their number can reach 280 thousand. The total number of registered users is 115 million.

In May 2012, a mobile application for Android and iOS operating systems was released.

The company was founded by natives of Israel, father and son Isai and Mark Sheinberg.

In 2014, PokerStars was sold for $4.1 billion to Amaya Inc.

On May 17, 2016, PokerStars and Full Tilt players were merged under the PokerStars brand. As a result of these changes, Full Tilt has effectively ceased to be an independent poker room.

In March 2014, PokerStars.com was blocked by Roskomnadzor in Russia.

In April 2021, Pokerstas was blocked in Belarus.
