Perceive

Perceive is a machine learning and neural network company that makes hardware for edge computing devices. The company was founded in 2018 by CEO Steve Teig, the CTO of Xperi and co-founder of semiconductor company Tabula. Perceive is the creator of Ergo, an edge inference processor that can run data center class neural networks at extremely low power. Ergo is able to process large neural networks in 20mW, and can support a variety of currently popular styles of advanced neural networks. Additionally, Ergo requires no external random access memory (RAM) and is 7 x 7mm, allowing it to be used in consumer electronics such as smartphones and cameras. Perceive also advertises that Ergo can provide heightened device security and privacy, since it does not rely on cloud computing technology and has encrypted neural networks, software, and chip access.

Perceive's executive team is made up of founder and CEO Tieg, President and COO Murali Dharan, VP of Business Development Kathy Cook, VP of Hardware Jim Hall, VP of Software Elif Albuz, VP of Marketing David McIntyre, and VP of Operations and Customer Success Naghmeh Sarkeshik.

Perceive was incubated by and is a majority owned subsidiary of Xperi, a semiconductor and imaging technologies licensing company.
