The software uses algorithms to search for mutations within proteins that may not be obvious to a human researcher. Users can customize the search and once the software has found the sought-after mutations, the results are presented to the user via graphs and information on the interface.

Peptone can be used via artificial intelligence in the cloud, which is optimal for single-protein projects for smaller businesses. For larger enterprises, it can be used in the users own labs for multi-protein projects.
