Peptone is a London-based data science company that has developed software that can process protein physics data and make hypotheses as if it were a human scientist.
The company's state mission is to use a combination of computational biophysics, non-linear modeling, and statistical approaches to structural protein biochemistry with the intended goal of streamlining protein mutation engineering campaigns.Peptone uses Deep Learning technology to further research on existing information about protein biophysics. The software uses algorithms to search for mutations within proteins that may not be obvious to a human researcher. Users can customize the search and once the software has found the sought-after mutations, the results are presented to the user via graphs and information on the interface.
Peptone can be used via artificial intelligence in the cloud, which is optimal for single-protein projects for smaller businesses. For larger enterprises, it can be used in the users own labs for multi-protein projects.
On March 4, 2018 Peptone announced raising $350,000 in venture funding from undisclosed investors.
On January 1, 2019 Peptone announced raising an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Founders Factory.
